British Columbia's Olympic route goes from Vancouver through to Squamish to Whistler. The cities are connected by the Sea to Sky Highway which acts as the gateway to outdoor adventure and travel in this tantalizing coastal mountain region. The Olympic corridor is fantastically gorgeous and unique.
Our mild west coast weather allows you to go glacier skiing on Whistler Mountain in the morning, hike through Squamish's temperate rain forests in the afternoon and sail in an island filled fjord at night. Anything is possible in Supernatural British Columbia Canada!

The timing of the Whistler 2010 Olympic games coincides with other notable events in the same year such as the 2010 World Cup of South Africa, and the 2010 Shanghai Expo. Add on top of these major world events the recessionary effect of Canada trailing the US in economic times of 1-2 years, the 2010 Olympics in Whistler may be one of the most terrible times in the last few decades to host the Olympics. Then again, so were the dismal times of the 1986 Expo and yet this event seemed to lift the economy in the local market….I guess we will find out how it effects the economy later.
For now, Whistler accommodations for rent in 2009 may become one of the worst years for the rental market Or hedge your bets with an expected economic turn-around in Aug/Sept 2009, it just may be the perfect timing to lift BC out of the recession.
Wether or not the Olympics help turn our gloomy economy around into an upward spiral is yet to be known, but what we do know for sure is that the 2010 olympis are going to be Historical
